Dr. Sarah Mackey, CVA, CFRE, is a nonprofit leader with 20+ years of experience driving impact through strategic growth, fundraising, and volunteer engagement. She leads Women in Security and Privacy (WISP), expanding opportunities for underrepresented professionals, and teaches nonprofit management and social justice at the university level.

Andrea Hill will explore strategies for securing corporate support, leveraging DTD (Donate Time/Donate Dollars), and using unified storytelling to showcase the true return on investment—from donor dollars to volunteer hours. Andrea is a certified nonprofit professional and fundraising executive with over 20 years of experience in capacity building, volunteer management, and resource development. She serves as Chief Development and Partnerships Officer for Tennessee Nonprofit Network, building cross-sector partnerships that drive impact across the state.

Tony will introduce the psychology of giving for volunteers and discuss ways to create messaging that is respectful of the relationship and feels natural, and share timing strategies that increase your chances of a 'yes', and real-world examples of strategies that work and tools you can use.

Tony Goodrow is the founder and former CEO of Better Impact, where he turned his passion for supporting volunteer-driven organizations into the creation of Volunteer Impact software. Since 2001, he has helped leaders of volunteers worldwide and spoken at global conferences on volunteer management.

Discover how to quantify the true investment behind volunteer programs and make the case for sustainable funding. Brooke Campbell will share practical tools and strategies to help volunteer managers advocate for increased budgets and elevate the status of volunteer engagement within their organizations.

Brooke Campbell, CNP, CVA, is Director of Community Outreach and Disaster Recovery at United Way of Greater Houston. She brings extensive experience in volunteer engagement, disaster recovery, and nonprofit training, and has led programs with Volunteer Houston and AmeriCorps.

Who Can Attend:

Volunteer engagement professionals from Associate to Director, development staff in organizations with volunteers, other interested non-profit professionals and even volunteers in volunteer leadership positions.

Professional Development Credits:

Conference attendance and participation will be worth 6 CVA PDUs.

Where is the Conference?

  • Members and guests can join us at Livery Studio in Pasadena
  • Livery Studio is located near public transit and there are public parking lots across the street and nearby for $10-12 for the day.
  • The site is located directly across from Pasadena’s beautiful Central Park.

What if I can't attend In Person?

DOVIA-LA will be presenting the conference in person only. However, there is an option to directly register with the conference on an individual, virtual ticket. Visit https://www.betterimpact.com/vmhc for more information.

What Do I Need To Bring?

  • Bring your lunch! Or some money to order/purchase food from nearby restaurants. We will have 50 minutes for lunch.
  • Notebook for taking notes and capturing people's contact information.
  • Business cards if you have them.
  • Water Bottle.

Cancellation Policy:

In consideration of planning logistics, registrants have until October 23rdto cancel their registration for a full refund if need be. Unfortunately, cancellations after October 23rdwill not be eligible for refund.
